Minimalist Walnut Cremation Urn with Votive Candle Holder

I present to you this minimalist cremation urn, made entirely of black walnut, offering a beautiful and unique way to say a final farewell. Accompanied by a matching votive candle holder, where the candle's glow symbolizes the presence of the soul, this set provides a simple and distinguished tribute to a loved one, honoring both body and spirit.
 
This urn, with its unique and elegant character, is distinguished by the knot on the front face adorned with a touch of gold leaf. This intervention emerges from my personal interpretation of the Japanese kintsugi technique. Inspired by this ancient art of repairing broken pottery with gold, I likewise highlight the imperfections in the wood with gold leaf details, adding a touch of light and symbolism, revealing and celebrating their beauty. The delicate golden lines represent the inner beauty that can emerge from imperfections and the marks left by the passage of life. I use imitation gold leaf, which is actually brass (copper and zinc), with a commitment to the ethical sourcing of materials used in my work.
 
The finish is a high-quality, environmentally friendly oil, applied and polished by hand in several layers. It provides a protective and durable finish and a soft satin sheen that enhances the natural beauty of the wood. The interior has an additional layer of beeswax, creating a smooth and soft surface to hold your loved one's ashes.
